That’s my seat,
It’s where the sofa and my bottom meet.
I put my coffee on the little table
And to the side is my phone charging cable.
That’s my seat,
it’s where I can lounge and put up my feet
The place my blanket and my pillow rest,
The pillow I love to scratch and hold to my chest
That’s my seat,
It’s where I like to eat my treats
There is a dip where my bottom fits,
Buts it’s also where everyone else wants to sit.
I turn my back or I come home late,
The cat, the dog, the children even the husband won’t hesitate
Hey That’s my seat I say,
They roll their eyes and sigh with dismay,
‘Please move’ I ask that’s where I sit,
you can see my table, my charger, my pillow and my blanket
and thats the groove where my bottom fits.
‘We know’ they say but the blankets warm and the groove is comfy,
Then they look at me all grumpy
But my phone is dying and I need to charge it, they protest
Your seat has the table beside it, it’s the best
‘But that’s my seat’ I shout,
It’s taken ages to plan all this out,
It has everything I need
To manage all my sensory needs.
My pillow, my table,
My blanket and my charging cable,
That groove is where my bottom goes t
I need to sit there or I might explode
I know it’s a large reaction
To meet my body satisfaction
But I can’t help it you see
I’ve used up all my energy
I need my seat, I need it now
And I can’t explain the rhyme or how
Whilst my body is not regulated
I feel all wobbly and discombobulated.
‘I’m sitting here, can’t you sit there’
Whilst pointing to another chair.
‘They are exactly the same’ they say
‘Just sit there it will be ok’
This makes me rage and boil
And my whole evening it about to spoil.
So when you sit in someone’s seat,
Just before you raise your feet,
Think am I quite prepared to move,
For the rightful owner of the groove?
For If they come home late,
And can not combobulate,
Just welcome them and say hello
And lift your bottom and watch them mellow.
There is nothing better than
Sitting in my seat,
It’s where the sofa and my bottom meet.
I put my coffee on the little table
And to the side is my phone charging cable.
That’s my seat,
It’s where I can lounge and put up my feat.
The place my blanket and my pillow rest,
The pillow I love to scratch and hold to my chest
